Is Hammer & Chisel all that? Find out my take on it...

It's like they KNEW what was going on inside my head.  Like they had it down pat EXACTLY what my easily distracted brain needed when it comes to fitness.  I am the first to admit I bore easily.  I like change and often.  I don't generally like repeating things over and over and over.  I.  Crave.  New and different.

When I heard about the release of this program, honestly I was skeptical.  It looked good on paper & during the promos.  It was hyped up pretty good and yes it was a new shiny thing for me to consider. **SQUIRREL**

So, once the sneak peek was released on Beachbody on Demand, again...I was not overly excited.  I took both of them for a test run and I actually disliked the workout Sagi brought to the table.  BUT...having said all that, I wanted to give this program a chance.  Release day came, I plopped down my credit card online and added that bad boy to my cart and clicked "Order Now".

Here.  We.  Go.

Enter Day 1.

I just came off 6 months of bulking up with no lean out and was ready to use this program as the thing to help me get started.  I had me some fluff going on and it was time to make fat die!

Enter Hammer & Chisel! This is an 8 week program that uses Stabilization, Strength and Power.  The workouts ranged from about 30-45 minutes, so there was really no excuse to come up with as to why they couldn't be done.  I did the entire program in my basement with a bench, dumbbells, a resistence band, a jump mat and about 8 feet of space.  At home fitness is no joke!  I have trained hard plenty in my past, both on my own and with a trainer and IMO this is right up there with that!  It impacted my body and my brain.  What's not to love?

The nutrition was SO easy with color coded portion control containers.  NO guess work or counting calories.  Hello, I love this!  I used Shakeology every freaking day and did not miss one.  I also used, from the Performance Line, the Recover (post-workout), Recharge (take it before bed), Hydration (intra-workout for optimal hydration) and Energize (MY FAVE and this is a pre workout to give me that extra boost to KILL these workouts!).
**You can order both Shakeology & the Performance line HERE .

The first week I was sore AF.  Like wickedly.  But in a good way.  Why?  Because even though I workout, I was not working the muscles in the same way that I did in these workouts.  I was most definitely being challenged and I liked it.

There were a few nights that I felt like I was tapped out, like I just was dragging my butt, but they were very few and I attribute that a lot to lack of sleep.  TOTALLY my own doing and it reflects in the workouts the next day.  AYECARUMBA!

In a nutshell, I finished strong, I lost body fat and inches, gained some wicked improvements in balance, stability and strength and I have already started round 2 to do it all again!

I lost 5.6 lbs, 5.5 inches in the 8 weeks.  Not a crazy amount but definitely a visible difference!

I also put together a short video montage of the 8 weeks, which I hope you enjoy!

Have you tried anything new, fitness or food wise lately?  If not, are you considering it?

If you are looking for some help and accountability in your fitness, I am also taking new clients at this time and would be happy to discuss options with you!  Feel free to email me at subjecttofire@gmail.com

Who wants to join me in round 2?  :-)

Do You Want To Change How Your Life Turns Out?

This might sound like it's kind of crazy but are you making time to just stop and smell the roses? Well honestly for a LONG time I was not.

- My life was chaotic and super stressful.
- I traveled all over the province for work, for a job that was pretty high pressure day in and day out.
- When I came home after being away for a good portion of the week, I felt deflated.
- I was missing my kids and my husband and I came home to a house that needed tending to and a family that needed attention. There weren't enough hours in the day.
- I was running solely on copious amounts of caffeine & gasoline.
Something had to give because before I knew it several years had passed and it was just like a hamster on the wheel. Running and running and running but never getting anywhere and never seeing any changes.
When I first started my Team Beachbody Business, I really had no clue what I was going to do with this but I just knew that I needed to do it. I was passionate about and believed in everything this company represented and I really just wanted to be part of that.
That was over 3 years ago.
Today I can say that my life has flipped completely around. I make time in every single day to do the things that feed my soul, even if it's small seemingly insignificant things. I get to see my kids and my family every day. I get to spend time with my grandson. I get to teach other amazing people how to make changes in their lives. I get paid to do something every day that I LOVE! My caffeine habits are now solely for JOY.
This is a life that I get to choose and design.
My income has increased every year, my stress levels are virtually nonexistent and I am heading into a year that is going to be the most impactful so far for me in this business.
I am so pumped up for what changes 2016 will bring to the table. My new coach training will kickoff very soon! If you are interested in making fitness YOUR business and want to create a life that you choose, drop your info here:  Team Subject To Fire Coach Application

Red Velvet Coconut Flour Pancakes

These were so darn amazing!  They take less than 2 minutes to whip up and they totally deliver every time.

PSSstttt:  You are welcome.  :-)

I could definitely eat these every day!  NOMSSS!!

Here is the recipe:

2 tablespoons oat flour
3 tablespoons of coconut flour
sprinkle of salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 packets of stevia
1 tablespoon cocoa powder

Mix all dry ingredients together, then add in :
1/4 cup 0% greek yogurt
1/4 cup egg whites
little splash of red velvet bakery emulsion (I found this randomly at Winners)

Mix together for about 15 seconds..mixture will be SUPER thick.  Do not add extra liquid.

Spray a pan over med high heat with coconut oil.  Divide batter to make 3 pancakes.  Use the back of spoon to flatten them down a bit (they will rise and be fluffy!).  BE PATIENT! You also may want to adjust the temperature down if it is getting too hot. Do not try to rush flipping these.  AND the pancakes are super delicate, so using a thinner spatula is ideal to flip.

Top with your fave nut butter and syrup (I use Walden's).  Stick the forchette in and enjoy!!

"WTH Did She Do Last Week" Sunday Nov. 2nd, 2014

HERE WE GO, BABY!  The start of a brand new month and a new set of goals and dreams.  HOLY Mother of Pearl...where did this year go?  I am fired up now more than ever to finish the year strong!

Well, I digress, so let's get to the goods, shall we? This week was one of utter insanity when it came to my business, but my food and fitness were 100% on target.  I even managed to make it through a killer wine craving.  Man..there are some things you just cannot replace.  Haha!

FOOD:  Oh the wonderful, glorious, amazing food I am eating.  Let's start with my life altering moment earlier on this week.

I revisited a vegetable I have despised since childhood.  BEETS.  It was on my radar to try in another form other than pickled and I did it!!  WHOOP!!  I freaking LOVE them.  I feel rather like I was missing out on something amazing for the last 40 years, which is a bit sad.  I am now going to be experimenting in many ways on adding them to my menu.  Angels sang and more kittens were born after this I swear!

Pureed Caulifower....OMG, so deelish.  I could hoover the entire pot!

I tried roasting squash this week in my crockpot.  Again, more kittens & angels.  :-)

I am still carb cycling so you can bet your hiney I enjoyed every minute of my high carb day.  For the most part I am 100% satisfied with what I eat but the days I seem to work harder in the gym, I am hangrier than usual.
Of course what week would be complete without caffeine & Shakeology?  Yep...my vices.  Hey, I don't drink wine OR do drugs.  I think my choices are good!

FITNESS:   This week was fabu in so many ways.  I upped my weights, I feel stronger and WOOHOO, I am now working out in the brand new gym that is opening soon here in town.  I got to be the first person to use the facility and I am there now every day.  I am going to be teaching PiYo classes there after they open so, I kind of have a bit of an advantage with the awesome owner who is letting me train.  Just like Christmas!!

Yesterday I started a brand new regime for the month of November...more pyramids, which get add ons as well each week.  It looks interesting for sure.  My trainer has been doing an exceptional job of keeping things fresh and  exciting! I plan on killing these work outs.  I GOT GOALS, baby!

I also had a meeting this week with a lovely lady who is going to be giving me posing lessons.  *Insert Twilight Zone Music* This scares the bejesus outta me, but I am up for the challenge so stay tuned for updates on that.

BUSINESS:  It was an insanely busy week, work wise.  My team had a major growth spurt which is so exciting to me!  I am doing my best to be a strong leader and teach them all the things I have learned since becoming a coach.  With that comes new trainings, plenty of motivational talks, team calls, and one of the most important factors, Personal Development.  I am trying hard to finish off this book this week because I have an exciting new one in the wings that I believe has my name written all over it.  :-)

Since this week was Halloween, my entire team dressed up for our weekly call.  We are TOTALLY fun like that.  I love their spirit!  And hey, any excuse to be Wonder Woman, right?

Tell me, does your life fire you up?  Do you set new goals for yourself every week, every month, etc?  Do you need to have something to strive for in your fitness, your business, your personal life? I would love you to share with me if you do. Leave a comment below and tell me what something is that you are working towards right now.

What are you losing...and what will you gain? Find out here...

This morning I asked the question on how much you all dropped on average at Target/Winners/TJ Maxx, etc per visit. The majority of you told me 100.00. To be honest, that is me, too. Every. Damn. Time. Why the heck is is SO easy to spend money out on new leggings (yes, I need more, right?), that amazing blue leather purse (Whatttt? It matches my killer shoes I bought there LAST week) and those multi-color bowls that will make my food porn pics even MORE food-pornier. Yes. I just made up that word.

And on the opposite end of the spectrum, so many people that are interested in what I do as a coach hesitate and ponder and speculate on spending 40.00 to become a coach and start up what potentially could be a 6 figure (or more) income. FYI: I am not there yet, but I will be.

Honestly...what do you have to lose? 40.00? As you all told me, we drop that at the snap of our fingers, but what do we get in return? More “stuff” to clutter up our homes and then by next week, we are already tired of it.

What do you have to gain? First off you get to be accountable. To yourself. That is the gift that keeps on giving. Secondly, you get me...I will train you and show you the ropes...there is nothing and I mean NOTHING to be afraid of. I knew jack squat when I became a coach, but I learned it! You also get my team...Team Subject To Fire. They are my extended family and we all help each other. Like, crazy help each other.

You don't have to know everything. You don't have to be ultra fit. You don't have to have experience. You just need to be willing to learn AND then teach. You need to want things to change WAY more than you want them to stay the same. You need to want to help others more than anything else. And you need to wake up every day with a fire lit. That 40.00 is nothing compared to what you get in return. You get to impact lives every day. Yourself included.

I am opening up 5 spots for my next new coach training. If this speaks to you (or sounds like someone you know), please talk to me.

For the record, that 40.00 I spent 2 years ago was the best investment I could have ever made. This is my job. This is what I wake up every damn day, excited to do.

And it can also be yours.

"WTH Does She Eat" Sundays

I love food.  Like seriously I am captivated and enthralled and enamored.  Everyone that knows me, knows when you are around me conversations are ALWAYS going to include food.  And shoes.  And coffee.  In no particular order.  It's like my personal Trifecta of bliss.

Now you know my dirty secret.

I thought since I always get asked by my followers, "What do you eat", I would do a weekly post that includes some of that amazingness that I consume.  I try to eat mostly Paleo, but I am in contest prep right now so I actually have snuck in a few non-paleo things to meet my macros.  But that  is a whole 'nother blog post which I may address in the future.

Here's the down low of this past week's food. Enjoy!

My breakfasts most always include eggs & guac or some kind of pancake/nutbutter creation.  And LOTS of coffee & coconut oil, blended.

MY RECIPE, if you can read my henscratchy writing.

My Epic pancake creation that turned into a freakishly deelish pancake bowl instead.  MyGyverin' it!

LUNCH is usually a Hugh Jass salad of some sort.  Lots of veggies, protein, healthy fats and most always topped with guac or homemade balsamic dressing.  Of late I have been a spiralizing maniac, so zucchini noodles I eat a ton, too.

DINNER is once again veggies with protein and healthy fats.  DAMN I am addicted to guacamole.  Funny, I despised both avocados and zucchini before I did the Whole 30, now they are eaten every day,

NOMMMMS, sweet taters....I love you!!

Dates....mmm, carbs, get in muh belly!

PWO EVERY day is always Shakeology.  Like clockwork.

Shoes AND coffee...2 outta 3 ain't bad.  :-)

October New Coach Training

I live in a small town of 2,025 (or so Wikipedia tells me). I started out as Beachbody coach here almost 2 years ago and did most of my leg work here. I moved away for 1 year, but now I am back and will continue to grow, expand and thrive in my business. In. A. Small. Town. To add fuel to my fire, my top coach lives in this same small town. Whoa, what? 2 success stories from the same small town MUST be unheard of! Just wait. We have more Rock Stars up & coming here. Bow Island is rocking the Beachbody ship.

I am now among the list of Canada's top coaches and yes that came with a price. That price for me was choosing temporarily, to sweat, work insane hours, work 2 jobs, sacrifice things, do the thing that not everyone thought was the norm, dream crazy dreams and help to inspire others. Guess what? It is working.

I now am a full time Beachbody Coach, I work for myself and I am Queen Bee & #girlboss of my own company. My world has changed. I wanted a better life for my family, I wanted to help others see they are never alone in their journey to health & fitness. I also now have the opportunity to lead and teach others & pay it forward. I am working my way to financial freedom and bringing others with me.

This is SO crazy to call this my life, and I feel like someone should pinch me every day my eyes open.

Does this sound just crazy enough to make you want to change your world? I can teach you all I know. ONE ON ONE. I will not profess to know everything because to be honest there are a whole lot of things I am still learning which excites the heck out of me.

I have goals. I have plans. They are coming true, inch by inch, row by row. (Who sings that song, anyway?)

Are you coming with me? Message, email, or shout out to me here in comments.  We can do this!

Be a Beachbody coach.

**Start date of Oct. 6th**
